“PLOB” - Point Loma to Ocean Beach

This Swim has an official distance of 9.8mi/15.8km. It starts inside San Diego Bay near Point Loma and Cabrillo National Monument. We time it with the ebb tide going out the bay for the first 3mi / 5km. It then bends around the tip of Point Loma, just past the historic lighthouse, and then north toward Ocean Beach.. This longshore swim takes us past beautiful Sunset Cliffs, through kelp forests, and then between the pilings of historic Ocean Beach Pier before finishing ashore at Ocean Beach Main Lifeguard Tower.
