The iconic swim that started it all...

Around Coronado: Landmark sites, skylines - and BIG ships!

This 11.7-mile, tidal-assisted swim begins at Glorietta Bay, just south of the Hotel Del Coronado and directly across from the Navy SEAL training base. Swimmers ease their way into the bay and towards the bridge, swimming under the immense spans before heading north. Once in the harbor, we swim past aircraft carriers, sailboats, and the beautiful downtown skyline as we get into the tidal flow for our initial push around the island. Passing North Island Naval Air Station, we’ll keep Point Loma to the right as we set a course around the jetty before heading home, using the historic “Hotel Del” as our landmark.
